冷卻塔冬季運行時極易結冰，嚴重時掛冰封堵進風口，影響冷卻正常運行，嚴重時破壞塔內淋水填料，影響冷卻效果。藍想公司總結了多年寒冷地區冷卻塔設計和客戶運行管理的經驗，針對冷卻塔冬季結冰問題有以下建議：
1、在進風口兩側填料上方增加噴淋，增大進風口處淋水密度，防止結冰。
2、在塔的進水干管上宜設通過部分循環水的旁路管。冷卻塔的進水閥門及管道應有防凍放水管或其它保溫措施。
3、機械通風冷卻可采取停止風機運行，減小風機葉片的安裝角度（即減小風量），或采用變速電機以及允許電機倒轉等措施。
4、為防止冷空氣侵入塔內造成淋水填料結冰，可在冷卻塔進風口設備擋風板，這是目前比較有效的防凍措施。
5、機械通風冷卻塔的風機減速器有潤滑油循環系統時，應有加熱潤滑油的設施。
